Differential Leaf Extract Tests: Understanding their Significance.

This test involves extracting the cellular fluid from the leaf cells which is then analysed to determine the presence of various nutritional elements that contribute to the plant’s growth and overall health.

These test results can additionally provide an insight into the environmental factors that may be affecting plant growth. This information can then be used to make necessary changes to the growing system, such as adjusting or adding the right nutrient balance, to improve the health of the plants.

Block Specific Dry Blends

The most effective way to adjust the soil chemistry and improve soil health is by block specific blends. Fertiliser mixes created specifically for the needs of the block or soil area. To achieve this we soil test each block or soil area (for example hill blocks, and flat blocks separately, or upper terrace and lower terrace.)

We formulate the required blend of chemistry, which includes a maintenance component based on tonnages harvested in the previous season. This mixed with a carbon source of raw humates or Humax 50

These blends target the most limiting nutrients designed to feed the soil by improving nutrient availability by fixing nutrient imbalances, improving base saturation figures and rectifying any deficiencies. Blends can be formulated as a maintenance application based on the previous year’s crop tonnages.

Based on the needs of the soil test, major nutrients and trace elements are targeted with products that offer plant available nutrients with a controlled release. This allows you to apply a range of nutrients at once, not just one or two, so ensures you get a better return off spreading costs.

Hybrid Ag Humax 50

Humax 50 Based Prescription Blend – This unique material is the base product used in our Prescription Blends.

Humax-50 is a concentrated, high-carbon, compost-type material made using a custom mix of carefully selected high carbon materials of varying densities, including brown coal and paramagnetic materials, in an accurately controlled activation process. Brown coal contains up to 40% humic acid, a broad range of trace minerals and holds many times its own weight in water.

Mixed into the product during the activation period is a large inoculation of specifically selected microorganisms along with a massive spectrum of microbe food sources. This creates a chain reaction of microbial growth that is sustained at ideal levels for many weeks. Unlike conventional composts that include animal wastes, the process never ‘overcooks’ at excessive temperatures because of the stabilizing effect of the carbons and so maintains the immense beneficial fungal and bacterial poplations. When used as the base of a prescription blended fertiliser, Humax-50 works like a big ‘sponge’ with the active carbons soaking up the nutrients that we have added to it to exactly suit a soil we have tested.

Humax Fertiliser Blends

This process dramatically alters the release patterns of the soluble nutrients, mimicking the natural process of nutrient delivery. This carbon bonding makes the added nutrients far more efficient and reduces any issues associated with losses due to leaching or volatilization. Hybrid-Ag has the ability to blend custom fertiliser mixes using NPK, Limes and Gypsum and all other required nutrients with the Humax to provide the most effective fertiliser for your soil. This gives Hybrid Ag the ability to use powdered ingredients instead of traditional granular products resulting in a much more efficient nutrient delivery system to the plant. One of the very special features of this mix is the way it provides a natural home for the added and activated microorganisms, allowing them to survive and thrive in the soils they are applied to.

One of the major challenges to introducing microorganisms into depleted soils is that a majority will not survive in the hostile environment they have been put into. Humax-50 provides a virtual ‘bridge’ that gives the microorganisms a chance to adapt to their new surroundings and begin to deliver their benefits to the soil.

Excellent elemental Sulphur source with controlled release. Sulphur and nitrogen are building blocks of converting nitrates into proteins, it also helps with the translocation of starches and sugars down to the roots.

Ammonium Poly Phosphate APP

BENEFITS OF APP • Unique polymer characteristics ensure, controlled deliver of phosphate across a wide range of soil types. • Ideal starter fertilizer made from the highest-grade materials, yielding a clear colorless solution. • Able to sequester & free insoluble micro elements bound in soils, making them plant available. • APP has the ability to free insoluble microelements such as zinc and copper bound in the soil. It sequesters them making them available to the plant. • It reduces interference of soil calcium for an enhanced phosphate uptake.

WHAT ARE POLYPHOSPHATES? Well-known phosphorus sources such as MAP and DAP contain phosphorus which is in the ‘orthophosphate’ form i.e. these are single phosphate molecules which easily become locked and unavailable to plants when applied to high pH, calcareous and acidic soils fixing phosphorus. The phosphorus in ammonium polyphosphate (APP) is not subject to this lock up. The reason for this is its long chain structure. During production of ammonium polyphosphate the extreme temperature of the reaction forces water out of the structure, thus forming polymer chains between the phosphate molecules. These polymer chains vary in size, giving the effect of a slow release phosphorus source.

Post Harvest Nitrogen Delivery

Multi-N is a specifically formulated liquid Nitrogen combining two forms of Nitrogen to ensure the most efficient uptake into the plant.

New data on the efficiency of Nitrogen Uptake is revolutionizing Fertilizer applications in Horticulture in Australia. Typically, Australian Farmers have put large amounts of Ammonium Nitrate on the ground to obtain the growth responses required, with the focus being on
units of N per Ha. This approach pays very little regard to how much Nitrogen is actually getting into the plant. By changing this thought process and applying the Nitrogen in a dramatically more efficient manner, as well as in multiple forms, horticulturalists are now
able to significantly reduce the units of Nitrogen used to achieve the same or better results.

How is this possible?

By adding the nitrogen in a much more plant available form, the plant has the ability to assimilate the Nitrogen up into the plant much faster. The forms of nitrogen found in Multi-N are extremely efficient for the plant to convert to protein, thus saving it valuable energy that the
plant can then put towards increased growth. Multi-N increases the mineral density of the plant as the nitrogen process ‘powers’ the sugar development in the plant.

Through the combination of both Urea and Calcium Nitrate forms of Nitrogen, this allows both Nitrogen and Calcium to be immediately translocated within the plant for sugar development and Calcium storage at the seasons end.

Multi-N is also easy to use. It is a workable product suitable for liquid injection, boom spray or even fertigation, available in a range of pack sizes.
